Delete my data

CareerLift has no accounts and no passwords. What we hold about you depends on what you used, and you can delete all of it yourself on this page, on the website or inside the Android app. Nobody has to read a request first.

What we hold, and for how long

  • The free job-match check: your resume and the posting are discarded after the check. The answer is kept for 30 days, encrypted with a key made from the two texts, so nobody, including us, can read it back or link it to you. It deletes itself after 30 days.
  • A full rewrite: the rewritten resume (not your original), stored against a one-way hash of your licence key, with the purchase email Gumroad gave us for a website purchase. It stays until you delete it below.
  • The emailed resume review: your name, your email address and the report, kept for up to 30 days. The resume text you pasted is erased once the report is sent.
  • Messages, refund requests and result reports you sent us: kept 90 days, then deleted automatically.
  • This device: the tool saves the text you pasted and your last result in this browser or app, so a reload does not lose them.

Delete the rewrites stored under a licence key

Paste the key you used for the full rewrite. Every rewrite stored under it is deleted at once, together with the purchase email recorded with it. Find my past rewrites then finds nothing for that key.

Delete everything linked to your email address

We email a confirmation link to the address, so only the person who reads that inbox can delete its data. The link opens this page with a Delete button, and nothing is deleted until you press it. It removes your emailed reviews and their reports, the messages, refund requests and result reports you sent, our record of the emails we sent you, any rewrites whose purchase email is this address, and the address on our mailing list.

Removes the resume and posting you pasted, your last result and any key typed into the tool, from this browser or app only.

What stays, and why

  • A one-way hash of a deleted licence key and the number of rewrites it used, so the key’s limit of 3 still applies. It cannot be turned back into the key.
  • A one-way do-not-email record for a deleted address, so we never write to it again.
  • For a purchase in the Android app: Google’s order number and a one-way hash of the key, so refunds and Google’s refund notices still work.
  • Gumroad’s records of a website purchase and Google Play’s records of an app purchase. We do not control them; ask them directly if you want them removed.
  • Server logs that hold a one-way hash of your IP address, which changes every day.
