Your resume and the job posting are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to produce your result. For the free check we then discard both — we do not keep the text. We do keep the answer for 30 days so that re-running the identical check returns the identical result without spending another free check; it is encrypted with a key derived from the two texts you pasted, which we do not store, so nobody can read it back — including us — without pasting the same resume and the same posting again. For the paid $19 rewrite we keep the rewritten output (not your resume) so it can be re-sent if you lose the page; it is stored against a one-way hash of your licence key. That paid record also holds the email address Gumroad returns for your purchase, your licence key reduced to its first 8 characters and its length, a one-way hash of the key, and a one-way hash of the job posting; it has no expiry, so it stays until it is deleted by hand. In both cases every run also writes one line to a log, and these are all the things that line can hold: the date and time, which of the two tools ran, how many characters your resume was (the job posting is not counted), how long the run took, how long the answer was, whether the model finished it, the error message our own server produced if it did not, and — in place of your IP address — a 16-character one-way hash of your address combined with that day’s date. Your IP address itself is never written down, the hash cannot be turned back into it, and it changes every day, so it can group a day’s abuse and nothing else. A paid line also carries how many rewrites that licence key has been given. Checking a licence key writes its own line — the time, that same shortened key, what Gumroad answered (its status code, its yes-or-no and its message text) and how we classified that answer — and when a key does verify we record the key itself, that purchase email and the number of uses Gumroad reports, so a buyer who loses their result can be found. None of those records is shared with anyone else or used for advertising. Separately, and in your browser rather than in that log, this page tells Google Analytics that a check ran; that event carries which of the two tools you used and nothing else — no resume text, no posting text, no licence key. Free checks are limited to 3 per day per network, which is how the free tool stays free. The $19 rewrite is not subject to that limit.
